Dream Cast: President Barack Obama Biopic

A historic president deserves the A-list treatment.

Barack Obama: The Movie  - Without a doubt, there will be a biopic on President Barack Obama. He is already called one of the greatest presidents in history. Charismatic, charming and the first Black president of the United States. As we mourn Obama leaving office in just a few weeks, here are our picks for who should play the key roles in Barack Obama: The Movie.  (Photo: Scott Olson/Getty Images)

Will Smith or Chiwetel Ejiofor as President Barack Obama  - Playing Barack Obama is a coveted part for Black actors everywhere (and Fred Armisen), but we'd put odds on either Will Smith or Talk to Me actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. Smith could nail Obama's charm and good humor, while Ejiofor has the gravitas to play the leader of the free world. But considering Smith has the president on speed dial, we'd give him the advantage on this one.(Photos from left: Larry Busacca/Getty Images, Stuart Wilson/Getty Images)

Regina King as Michelle Obama  - There's more to Michelle Obama than just toned arms and a killer smile. Regina Hall is our pick to play one of history's most popular first ladies, known for her grace, wit and no-nonsense attitude. King's roles as lawyers on Ally McBeal and Law & Order should help in her portrayal of whip-smart Michelle.(Photos from left: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images, Kevin Winter/NBCUniversal/Getty Images)

Keke Palmer as Malia Obama  - The Obamas have done a great job of keeping Sasha and Malia out of the spotlight, so much so that audiences took a collective gasp after seeing Malia, all grown up and looking gorgeous, at the Democratic convention. We suggest one of our favorite wholesome young actresses, True Jackson, VP star Keke Palmer, to play teenager Malia. (Photos from left: John Ricard / BET, Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Zoe Soul as Sasha Obama  - Sweet, luminous and funny, Sasha Obama is the kind of little sister nobody would mind having around. We recommend Reed Between the Lines star Zoe Soul to portray the 11-year-old. It's all in the smile...and the hair!(Photos from left: John Ricard / BET, Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

Derek Luke as Barack Obama Sr.   - To play the man who looms large in the president's imagination and is the subject of his best-selling book requires an actor of considerable chops. We nominate Derek Luke for the part of the Kenya-born missionary and intellectual, whose history with Islam gave President Obama his middle name and a right-wing headache.(Photos from lwft: Alberto E. Kate Winslet as Ann Dunham  - President Obama has called his late mother the "dominant figure of my formative years," whose values provided the foundation of his political beliefs. Dunham, who worked on a Ph.D. at the University of Hawaii, could only be portrayed by an actress with the smarts and gravitas of Oscar-winner Winslet.(Photos from left: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images, REUTERS/Obama For America /Landov)

Meryl Streep as Hillary Clinton  - Hillary Clinton went from Obama's worst foe to one of his closest confidantes and a star member of his cabinet. The feisty secretary of state would best be portrayed by Meryl Streep, no stranger to transforming into historical figures on the big screen.(Photos from left: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images for AFI, Peter Macdiarmid - WPA Pool/Getty Images)

Jeff Bridges as Bill Clinton  - For the role of President Obama's irrepressibly charming, bad-boy-with-a-grin ally, we nominate Jeff Bridges. The actor has plenty of good ol' boy charm and enough gray hair to accurately portray the former Democratic president. (Photos from left: John Shearer/Getty Images, Michael Loccisano/Getty Images)

Liam Neeson as Joe Biden  - Vice presidents don't usually enter the pop culture zeitgeist, but Joe Biden is not your average VP. The gaffe-prone politician is a celebrity in his own right, so who better to play him than Liam Neeson, who has surprised more than one talk show host with his bawdy sense of humor. Josh Brolin as Mitt Romney  - Mitt Romney is defined by his wealth, influential family and rugged good looks. To play Obama's worthy opponent in the 2012 presidential election, who could be better than Josh Brolin, who himself has come from privilege? The actor had a famous father and has already portrayed a Republican president on the big screen.(Photos from left: Stuart Wilson/Getty Images, Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)

Spike Lee, Director  - You know politically-opinionated Spike Lee is dying to get his hands on this project. And who better to craft the story of this century's most significant political and historic figure than the man who has dedicated his career to making statements about Black culture, influence and progress on film? We can count on Lee to give the story a balanced approach. (Photo: Donald Bowers/Getty Images for Evidence)
