ill.i.optics by will.i.am - Next to his infectious (whether you like it or not) beats, the Black Eyed Peas' frontman is best known for his outlandish style, specifically when it comes to his sunglasses. With the launch of ill.i.optics, the hit maker's debut eye-wear line, he aims to "marry the retro feel with futurism, take yesterday's sensibility with today's aesthetic." For $300 a pair and up, you can hop in the time machine with him. (Photo: David Becker/Getty Images for iHeartMedia)

Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word - Emmy-nominated actress, transgender activist and everyone's favorite inmate from Orange Is the New Black, Laverne Cox, continues her crusade for meaningful dialog around transgender issues with her MTV documentary. The one-hour special, which will air on MTV and Logo on October 17, profiles the lives of seven transgender youths. Hopefully Katie Couric, Piers Morgan and the rest of America will be watching. Air Jordan XX9 - Lace up for basketball season with the new Air Jordan XX9, designed using the latest in air bag — yes, that's right — technology and preferred by both street ballers and the NBA. And the best part: at $225 a pair, the XX9s are actually a bit cheaper than the previous generation, the XX8s. (Photo: Nike)

Annabelle - Halloween month wouldn't be complete without a box-office offering that will frighten us half to death. This year, the must-see horror film is Annabelle. The origin story of the terror-inducing Victorian doll from 2013's The Conjuring hits theaters on October 3. (Photo: New Line Cinema)

Prince's Art Official Age and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V - Prince's new album, which was meant to come out last month, will finally drop on October 3 (still plenty of time to make it a stocking stuffer), which leaves us about three weeks to play it on repeat until we turn our attention to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V, out October 28. The YMCMB frontman claims this will be his final LP...though we have a feeling his retirement will last as long as the Purple One's. Nubian Skin Lingerie - A London-based company came up with a simple, beautiful solution to a glaringly obvious problem: nude underwear for women whose definition of "nude" isn't just peaches-and-cream. Nubian Skin, whose line of flesh-toned bras and panties, launches this month, covers the melanin rainbow from light caramel to the darkest mahogany. "The [lingerie industry] simply doesn't cater to women of color," Nubian Skin's founder writes on the company blog. "So, I thought, it's time to rethink the definition of nude." (Photo: Nubian Skin)

The Purge: Anarchy - The dipping mercury makes it a great time to stock up on DVDs and other forms of at-home entertainment. This month we like the sequel to the 2013 sleeper hit about citizens preparing for their country's annual 12 hours of consequence-free anarchy. Special features on DVD/Blu-Ray (out October 21) include deleted scenes and a making-of featurette. (Photo: Universal Pictures)
