Where Are They Now? The Cast of 'Big Momma's House'

Martin Lawrence, Nia Long, Terrence Howard and more starred in this hilarious movie.

Ella Mitchell as Hattie Mae Pierce (the real Big Momma) - Ella Mitchell is known just as widely for her role as Big Momma in the 2000 comedy as she is for her big voice. Not much has been heard from Mitchell since the role, but she is credited as a star and co-director in the short film Tropfest Junion 2011: The Bar Bee Q, her most recent recorded project to date.(Photo: Andrew Putler/Redferns/Getty Images)
Tichina Arnold as Ritha - A comedic tag team between Tichina Arnold and Anthony Anderson sounds too good to be true, right? Well, they made it happen in Big Momma's House with the actress playing Anderson's sister. Now, years after the film's debut, her filmography has more than doubled, raking up roles in More to Love, The Great Divide, Wild Hogs and, most recent, Top Five. On the television front, Arnold has been much more active, being featured in TV favorites like Hit the Floor, BET's Let's Stay Together, The Boondocks and, of course, Everybody Hates Chris.(Photo: Imeh Akpanudosen/Getty Images for Super Bowl Gospel)
Octavia Spencer as Twila - Before her Oscar win, Octavia Spencer was making us laugh as Twila in Big Momma's House. Following her performance in the comedy, she served in a few more small roles in movies like Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Breakin' All the Rules and The Nines. In 2011, however, she made it big, scoring an Academy Award for her performance in The Help. Her roles only expanded since then with her starring in movie smashes like Fruitvale Station and The Divergent Series: Insurent. (Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images)
Cedric the Entertainer as the Reverend - Before becoming a movie star, Cedric the Entertainer was more known in the television and stand-up worlds. The action/comedy was one of the comedian's first few movie roles, and after the success of the film, more just kept coming. Following Big Momma's House, Cedric starred in the likes of Barbershop, Ice Age, Johnson Family Vacation and A Haunted House. Most recently, he revived his role Barbershop 3. On the television front, Ced has starred in BET's Real Husbands of Hollywood and The Proud Family and serves in the lead role of his own sitcom The Soul Man.(Photo: Frederick M. Prior to his role as Big Momma's hilariously annoying boyfriend in the film, Carl Wright starred in Soul Food and Early Edition. Following the film's release, he kept starring in stories showcasing the African-American community with films like The Cookout, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Platinum Playaz and When Thugs Cry, to name a few. Wright, unfortunately, died of cancer in 2007.(Photo: Vince Bucci/Getty Images)
