Mean-Spirited Musical Moments

Those instances when things get super ugly between stars.

Twitter Reacts to Ray J's "I Hit It First" (@RayJ) - More hilarious than the awkward "I Hit It First" declaration that Ray J released in regards to his famed sex tape with reality star Kim Kardashian were the tweets that fans dished out in response. K. Michelle even added her two cents, calling men like Ray "little emotional girls." #ohthestruggle #thesongiscatchythough(Photos: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images; Elektra Records)

Mean Musical Moments - Brandy's brother is up to no good. Ray J released a new single, "I Hit It First," with artwork that featured a barely concealed image of Kim Kardashian, who once dated the singer — and infamously appeared in a sex tape with him. Classy! But there have been many other musical moments that have been just as mean. Click on for some examples. —Alex Gale (Photos from left: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images, Elektra Records)

Marvin Gaye, Here, My Dear - In a bitter divorce settlement, Gaye, who was having money problems due to drug use and extravagant spending, agreed to give his ex-wife, Anna Gordy, half of the royalties from his next album. The result was 1978's Here, My Dear, which featured acerbic, detailed, shockingly personal songs like "You Can Leave, But It's Going to Cost You" and "I Met a Little Girl," which ends with the lyric "Hallelujah, I'm free."(Photo: Courtesy Motown Records)

Kanye West, "Robocop" - Much of Kanye's controversial 2008 album 808s and Heartbreak was reportedly inspired by his breakup with girlfriend Alexis Phifer, but he crossed the line on "Robocop," which ends with him repeatedly singing, "You're just a spoiled little L.A. girl" in a mocking tone. Jay-Z's Summer Jam Screen - Jay-Z broke out the big guns when he performed his classic diss track "Takeover" at Hot 97's Summer Jam in 2001. "Black Republican" - Nas and Jay Z finally deaded their beef and dropped this song in 2006, off Nas's eighth album, Hip Hop Is Dead. With the charging hook, "Can't turn my back on the 'hood, too much love for them...," the Post and the Point were back in unison. Surely the game is missing a video to mark this momentous occasion.(Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage for 2K Sports)

Jay-Z, "Super Ugly" - After Nas lit into Jay-Z on his classic diss track "Ether," Hov responded with "Super Ugly," which took things way too far. Jay detailed how he slept with Nas' baby's mother and left condom wrappers on the baby seat (yuck). Jay later apologized. (Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage for 2K Sports)

Justin Timberlake, "Cry Me a River" - Justin dropped the breakup epic "Cry Me a River" in 2002, shortly after he split from Britney Spears (rumor has it she was cheating on him). But the video, which showed Justin getting revenge on a blonde Britney lookalike, took things to the next level. (Photo: Jive Music)

Tupac/Faith Evans - After the infamous pic of a tipsy-looking Faith Evans hanging out with 2Pac, the rival of her hubby Notorious B.I.G., leaked, 'Pac took full advantage on his volcanic 1996 diss track "Hit 'Em Up." "You claim to be a player but I f----d your wife," he rapped. Furthermore, the song's video also featured a mocking impersonator of Lil' Kim, who Biggie had been dating for years on the low.(Photo: Courtesy Death Row Records)

2Pac, "Hit 'Em Up" - On "Hit Em Up," a landmark in the world of low-down-dirty diss tracks, 'Pac claimed he slept with Biggie's wife, Faith Evans. Doesn't get much meaner than that. (Photo: Death Row Records)

Cam'ron, “What Means The World To You” - You gotta give it up to Cam for recognizing that the Police’s bouncy reggae-rock classic “Roxanne” would make for a club banger, perfect for his double-time punchlines. (Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for AXE)

Cam'ron, "Stan" - Cam'ron's 2000 on-wax attack against fellow Harlem spitter Stanley Spit was no-holds-barred, making fun of the death of his foe's mom. "Hung out with you on Mother's Day because your mother's dead," Cam rapped. (Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for AXE)

50 Cent vs. Rick Ross - In yet another rapper versus 50 Cent saga, Rick Ross misperceived a glance from the beef-ready rhymer at the 2009 BET Awards as a diss. On wax, Rozay fired the first shot with the track "Mafia Music." 50 responded with "Warning Shot." (Photos from left: Michael Becker/Fox/PictureGroup,(Jeff Daly/PictureGroup)

50 Cent, "Tia Told Me" - 50 Cent's "Tia Told Me" name-dropped Rick Ross' baby mother and dissed DJ Khaled. But the real body blows came after, when 50 released a sex tape featuring Rozay's other baby mother and also leaked a creepy video that seemed to vaguely threaten/stalk Khaled's mother. Eminem and Kim - Teen love runs deep and nobody knows this better than Eminem and his love-hate-love relationship with his ex-wife and the mother of his child, Kim. A baby will bond you for life and with songs like "Kim," "I'm Going Through Changes" and a plethora of other Em hits and album cuts, there's no way that he is ever going to escape the memories of his ex. Eminem, "Kim" - Eminem joked about killing his wife in earlier material, but this 2000 song was no laughing matter. The song starts with Em screaming verbal abuse at his wife, devolves to physical abuse and then ends with him describing her murder as he screams, "Bleed, b---h, bleed."
