Potential New Advisors to Floyd Mayweather

There is trouble brewing on The Money Team.

Floyd Mayweather, Longtime Advisor Have Falling Out - About a week after Floyd Mayweather scored a unanimous decision victory over Marcos Maidana, an ESPN report pointed out that the undefeated champion and his longtime adviser, and current CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbee, weren’t seeing eye to eye. "I think we're just getting to a point where we're outgrowing each other. I think I just see things my way and I think he sees things in another way," Mayweather told Fighthype.com. Mayweather took exception to the fact that his WBC and WBA titles in both weight classes were on the line without his approval and that his daughter was seated in the front row without her mother sitting next to her — both of which seemed to fall on Ellerbee. If Mayweather does indeed replace Ellerbee as his longtime adviser and current CEO of Mayweather Promotions, he’s g...

Untamed - It's been a busy week for 50 Cent. Not only did he reunite with G-Unit, release new music from the group and announce that they've got an album in the works, he also dropped his fifth album, Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win. Just before it was released, he stopped by The Breakfast Club to uncage a few wild things. He went in on his strategy now that he's no longer with Interscope, his relationships with Eminem and Ciara (the latter of whom he's no longer with either) and even recalled that one day when Beyoncé ran up on him in Jay Z's defense.Read on a for a look at top 10 best moments from his chat with Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God. —Michael Harris (@IceBlueVA)(Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for Starz)

50 Cent - Laugh about the suggestion all you want — 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather have history together, despite their back-and-forth bickering. Sure, Fif was challenging the undefeated boxer to read a page from a Harry Potter book just last month, but even the hip hop mogul himself said that the two are still brothers. Their friendship can be mended…especially when there’s money to be made. The fact that 50 is keen on the business side of boxing, as evidenced by his SMS Promotions company, just makes this potential marriage all the more alluring. If the two are able to set aside their differences, watch the money roll in. (Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for Starz)

Richard Schaefer - Even while taking shots at Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather always praised former CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer. When Schaefer resigned from his post as CEO in early June, Mayweather immediately dropped Golden Boy as his promoter. How big of a power play would it be for “Money” Mayweather to bring Schaefer back and give him the task to promote his fights? Big money move! (Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Bernard Hopkins - One would be hard pressed to find someone who truly understands boxing’s current climate — both the business side and in the ring — more than Bernard Hopkins. As the president of the East Coast chapter of Golden Boy Promotions, B-Hop has worked behind the scenes in not only conceiving certain bouts but seeing them all the way to fruition. Considering he’s still active at 49 years old, few would be able to relate to a veteran boxer’s needs like Floyd Mayweather’s as Hopkins could. We see Hopkins being able to steer Mayweather through the final fights of his career very well. (Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Oscar De La Hoya - Famed boxer Oscar De La Hoya released a self-titled Latin pop CD in 2000. The disc was nominated for a Grammy. How do you say "SMH" in Spanish?(Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

Oscar De La Hoya - To this day, Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya don’t care for each other. But as history shows, they didn’t have to be friends to make money together. Although Mayweather mainly worked with Richard Schaefer, the ex-CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, De La Hoya was still front and center for many of Mayweather’s most memorable bouts. If the two can overlook their differences and keep it about cashing out in boxing, this would work well. (Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

Warren Buffett - Warren Buffett attended Floyd Mayweather’s training camp leading up to his fight against Marcos Maidana on September 13. As the highest-paid athlete in the world, something tells us that Mayweather would be all ears if Buffett — who is worth an eye-popping $58.5 billion — would dole out advice to him.(Photo: Bill Pugliano/Getty Images)

Jay Z - We've definitely witnessed Jay Z's syle evolve over the years to the point where Hov could rock a Tom Ford suit or a white T-shirt. That—and Hov's status as a God MC—make him a nominee for the Made-You-Look Award for best hip hop style.(Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Jay Z - Jay Z has already reached great sports success in helping the likes of Robinson Cano and Kevin Durant sign lucrative $200 million deals with the Seattle Mariners and Nike, respectively, as Roc Nation Sports clients. With Roc Nation Sports now having a boxing promoter’s license, Floyd Mayweather aligning himself with Hov would not only generate big money, but it would also likely irk the hell out of 50 Cent. Now that’d be a good one-two combination. (Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard  - Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard worked together to deliver The Contender, a reality television series about new boxers, nearly a decade ago. The two friends and business partners could always link back up and make a run at advising and promoting Mayweather’s fights. It’s almost the best of both worlds, considering Sly’s Hollywood muscle and love for the sweet science and Leonard’s boxing acumen.  (Photo: Frank Micelotta/Getty Images)

Mike Tyson - Last summer, Mike Tyson announced the birth of his Iron Mike Productions boxing promotions company. Being that Tyson was boxing’s last huge cash cow before Floyd Mayweather makes this possible partnership intriguing. The two greats also have a pretty good relationship, one that we could see translating into the business end of boxing. (Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Oprah Winfrey - Floyd Mayweather turned off a lot of fans by being involved in various domestic violence incidents through his career. Imagine a powerhouse like Oprah Winfrey advising the undefeated champion. Not only would that association help his image...it would skyrocket his earnings even higher. (Photo: PacificCoastNews)
