Rappers Missing in Action

Hurricane Chris reemerges, Murphy Lee, Shyne and more.

Where Ya Been? - Hurricane Chris has been off the scene for a minute but it looks like he's about to return with a vengeance. The "A Bay Bay" and "Halle Berry" hit maker just unleashed some new heat called "Sections" with an assist from Ty Dolla $ign on the hook and DJ Mustard on the beat. Be on the lookout for his upcoming project Hurricane Season and check out more artists who've been missing in action. -Michael Harris (@IceBlueVA)Georgia. Bone Crusher and Mike Jones - Houston's Mike Jones and Atlanta's Bone Crusher schocked when they both reemerged after more than five years of being M.I.A. The two Southern MC's were slated to battle it out at MC War's NWO in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and neither was ever known to flex on the battle rap circuit before. Onyx's Fredro Starr going head-to-head with Def Squad's Keith Murray was also a draw for the night.(Photos from Left: Jemal Countess/Getty Images, Turner/WireImage)

Charles Hamilton  - New York emcee Charles Hamilton popped up on the Web unexpectedly in May 2014 after he was spotted and interviewed in Harlem. The Sonic the Hedgehog-touting lyricist revealed a lot of things, including that he's still signed to Interscope Records and considers Jimmy Iovine god, but he and Iovine have creative differences because he wants to make dark music while Jimmy wants him to be hip hop's version of Bob Dylan. Before that, his last Twitter post was in February 2012.(Photo: Amanda Edwards/WireImage)

Odd Man Out - Rappers have always found strength in numbers. Someone's got to be your hypeman, hold your contraband, or, if they're lucky, be signed to your vanity label. That's why crews have been an integral part of hip hop culture since the beginning. A rapper without a crew is an orphan in a cold, cold industry. That's why everyone held their breath when Pill started tweeting recklessly about his crew, Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, last week, complaining about his lack of exposure. Would Rawse respond by kicking the promising ATL MC to the curb? We hope not—Pill certainly doesn't want to end up like other music exiles. Pill - Pill had the streets of ATL on fire a few summers ago and was even part of the first installment of Rick Ross's MMG before deciding to bounce. Since then, he dropped The Epidemic mixtape in 2012 and had a brief jail stint but has remained fairly quiet since his 2013 release. A new project called Over the Counter Drugs has been stalled for a minute although he remains active on Twitter. (Photo: Rick Diamond/Getty Images for Heineken)

Craig Mack - It's been a minute since Craig Mack was spitting "Flava in Ya Ear." Last time we heard wind of the former Bad Boy MC, he was part of church group and had denounced hip hop. With no social media presence either, it seems Mack also meant the secular world, when his minister proclaimed he was "leaving wickedness for righteousness."(Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

Freddy P and Dylan Dylinjah of Da Band - Freddie P and Dylan Dylinjah of Da Band were primed and ready to go but nothing ever materialized for the Florida MC and the rude bwoy. He also recently hinted that Da Band might get back together. Fingers crossed.(Photo: Frank Micelotta/Getty Images)

Foxy Brown - Foxy Brown has been off the scene for a minute due to problems with her hearing, but we'd still love to see Fox Boogie have another run. We last heard from the vet in an interview in 2013 on MTV's Rap Fix, where she addressed Jay Z's "Picasso Baby" and him addressing their rumored relationship from the past, and get glimpses of her life nowadays on Twitter and her Instagram profile.(Photo: Larry Busacca/Getty Images)

Mia X - Mia X stood tall as the queen of the No Limit regime as the South took its spot at the head of the hip hop table. But family tragedies, including the death of her parents, forced her to step away. With a few tracks here are there, the New Orleans MC stays on social media, however, these days she's focused on promoting her recipes and her restaurant down in the N.O.(Photo: Theo Wargo/WireImage)

Silkk the Shocker - Silkk the Shocker helped lead Master P's No Limit army to victory and has played the background for the past few years as he's been focusing more on business ventures. But apparently Silkk is about to return to the mainstream with a new album called Incredible that he's been promoting on Twitter. He also unveiled a few new records on his website, Shockerworld.net, and dropped the new inspiring video "Don't Give Up."(Photo: Thos Robinson/Getty Images)

Shyne - Shyne may be free, but since he cancouldn't come back to the U.S. (so he took up residence in Belize), his career has been indefinitely stalled. Although he's rarely heard (he dropped a tape in 2012 called Gangland), Shyne keeps his presence felt on social media and the former Bad Boy has been in several Twitter beefs with Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Game and Kendrick Lamar, just to name a few. Last time we really heard from him, he was trashing K Dot's major label debut, the critically acclaimed good kid, m.A.A.d city. (Photo: UPI/Debbie Hill /Landov)

Murphy Lee - Murphy Lee was riding hard with his homeboy Nelly and their St. Lunatics crew but seemed to have disappeared just as he was about to embark on his own solo success. Now, Murph revealed via Instagram, he drops a new project every quarter and you can get most of it free at newmurph.com, but his real passion seems to be in the spirits game now. In 2011, he and his brother, Kyjuan of the 'Tics, launched their own wine brand, Freaky Muscato, and after that success, D'Bes.(Photo: Jemal Countess/Getty Images)

Lil Flip - Lil Flip has been below the radar for a minute but resurfaced heavily at the end of 2012 after he was busted with drugs and an assault rifle. It seems those troubles may be behind Flip, however, as he's got constant tour dates on Twitter. (Photo: Bennett Raglin/WireImage)
