Phife, We'll Miss You - This was a pretty sad week. This past Wednesday, Phife, of A Tribe Called Quest, passed away. No further news on the cause of death. We'll stay remembering how he let his lyrics flow and flipped our entire script. RIP, Phife. In other news, rappers are out here making career moves, making money and talking trash. What else would they be doing? Let's recap quick so we can go back listening to Midnight Marauders. – Jon Reyes (Photo: BET)

Darling Phife - We couldn't believe it and we weren't alone. For starters, a traffic reporter paid his own homage on the air. Also, check out Mac Miller's own tribute to the fallen rapper. Though the collective remembrance of the music world is definitely heartbreaking. (Photo: Brian Ach/Invision/AP, FIle)

Praise the Mess - Giving you an update on Kanye West this week is like talking to a parent during a parent-teacher conference after he got sent home with a bad report card. For starters, West is still making dough, $53 million debt and all. His pop up store in New York City sold one million dollars in product. Also, this week, he requested his criminal record be expunged (for assaulting a paparazzi) since he met all his court ordered requirements. He loves paparazzi now. They give him rides to the gym, so it's actually deserved. Oh, yeah, and he's been on his best behavior at the two Justin Bieber concerts he went to this week. We should all be very proud of him. He’s shown great behavioral improvement. (Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Yeezy Season 3)

NORE on MJ - After all these years, all it takes to question Michael Jordan's affinity for rap is for rapper NORE to stop in for a podcast interview with Elliot Wilson and talk about a run-in he had with the ball player some years ago. Can you imagine if this heresy was true? (Photo: Zhong Zhi/Getty Images)

Still Trolling? - Lest another week go by where all Azealia Banks did was troll she released her Slay-Z mixtape. Earlier in the week, she went on record, through her Instagram, to encourage arch-nemesis Iggy Azealea to commit suicide. Iggy had given an interview where she stated she'd had suicidal thoughts while going through the public evisceration she experienced last year.
