Go With the Flow - If summer’s humidity regularly jacks up the definition on your twist-outs — and that bothers you — just don’t do twist-outs. The same goes for flat ironing your hair straight. Why fight nature? Opt for styles that thrive on the moisture in the air, like a wash and go. (Photo: Getty Images)

Seal With Oil - Moisture is the name of the natural hair game year round, but it’s extremely important when the weather is extreme, such as the dead of winter and the height of summer. Use a water-based moisturizer to hydrate your strands, and then use an oil to “seal” the moisture inside and prevent your hair from sucking up all the water in the air, which leads to frizz. Bonus: Many natural oils — including shea, hemp seed and avocado — offer SPF protection, too. (Photo: Getty Images/iStockphoto)
