Represent: 15 Nas Songs That Should Have Videos

Classic Esco bangers that deserve visuals.

Nas - Year of Honor: 2006It seems contradictory to award a man who proclaimed hip hop to be dead in an album title (which was released the same year he received this award) with the first I Am Hip Hop award. However, hip hop as a culture has always been at odds with itself and no artist has ever embodied that struggle better than Nas. Hailing from Queensbridge, NY, his highly-lauded debut album, Illmatic, was credited with ushering in a new era of rap music whose effect can still be heard today.(Photo: Ilya S. "Rewind" - Nas told the story of a murder in the 'hood backwards on his track "Rewind" from Stillmatic. It would have been ill seeing a visual with the story being told from ending to beginning, too. (Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)
"Poppa Was a Playa" - With so many people believing that Black men don't support and raise their kids, a video for Nas's "Poppa Was a Player" should have been shot just to kill that huge misconception. On the stellar cut from The Lost Tapes, Q.B.'s finest pays homage to his pops in this "Dear Mama" reversal. (Photo: Scott Gries/Getty Images)
"War" - Nasir's 2004 double album Street's Disciple was filled with gems and this celebration of life track was one of many that deserved more light. Speaking on the birth of his daughter and moving past his baby-mama drama over the jazzy Keon Bryce-sung hook, the only thing missing was a cinematic back drop.(Photo: Mats Andersson/WENN.com)
