Obama's Youth Town Hall - On Thursday, President Obama hosted a live televised youth town hall on BET’s Washington, D.C. campus. “A Conversation with President Obama,” a BET and MTV production, was moderated by BET’s April Woodard, MTV’s Sway Calloway and CMT’s Katie Cook and featured a diverse audience of 18- to 29-year-olds who asked the president questions on a variety of topics.

Real or Fake? - On Wednesday, T.I. helped talk a suicidal man from jumping off of a 22-story Atlanta building. The rapper heard about the man on a local radio station, and decided to lend a hand by taping a video message for the man. It worked, but now some are questioning whether the incident was real or if it was a publicity stunt to make him look good ahead of his probation hearing. Fate and destiny, all these things, they put us where we’re supposed to be. This was not a coincidence.,” he told BET.com.

‘View’ Ladies Walk out on O’Reilly - Following a heated exchange of words with Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly, “The View” co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the stage during Thursday’s show. The panel was discussing the planned Islamic center near Ground Zero in New York City, when the women took offense to O’Reilly’s statement that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” He eventually apologized for the statement and Behar and Goldberg returned.

Sentenced - On Friday, rapper T.I. was sentenced to 11 months behind bars for violating his probation. The sentence stems from the arrest of the rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny Cottle,” last month in L.A. for drug possession. “I want drugs out of my life. If I can get the treatment and counseling I need … I can beat this,” he reportedly said in the Atlanta court. T.I. was released from prison earlier this year following a sentence for a felony weapons charge.

Gilbert Arenas Fakes Injury - The Washington Wizards fined Gilbert Arenas for faking a knee injury on before Tuesday’s pre-season game against the Atlanta Hawks. According to sources, Arenas did it so his teammate Nick Young could get more playing time. Young ended up scoring 24 points in his team’s win over the Hawks. Two days later, Arenas left another preseason game three minutes in with an actual groin injury.

Chilean Miners Rescued - After 69 days in the depths of a Chilean mine, 33 trapped miners were rescued late Wednesday and Thursday. Each man emerged from the 13-foot capsule used to retrieve them to have emotional reunions with family members. "I think I had extraordinary luck. I was with God and with the devil. And I reached out for God," “Super” Mario Sepulveda told reporters after his rescue.

First Lady Stumps for Dems - First Lady Michelle Obama hit the road this week to campaign for Democrats ahead of next month’s elections. On Wednesday, she headed out to a fundraiser for Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold and will hit up 10 fundraisers in seven states over 12 days.

Man Streaks in Front of Obama for Money - Juan Rodriguez, 24, was arrested last Sunday for streaking naked during President Obama’s rally in Philadelphia. After the stunt, he was immediately arrested and charged with indecent exposure among other charges. Rodriguez hoped to win a $1 million internet challenge, where a billionaire promised that amount to anyone who would streak in front of Obama with a Web site on his chest, but fell short on the deal because he didn’t get close enough to the president. Accused Abuser at Oprah’s School is Acquitted - The former school matron at Oprah’s South African school who was accused of abusing teens at the institution was acquitted of the charges on Monday because the state failed to prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. “Tiny” Virginia Makopo had been accused of trying to fondle and kiss the girls shortly after the school opened in 2007. Winfrey released a statement saying she’s “profoundly disappointed” by the outcome of the trial.

Baseball Hall of Famer Gwynn Has Cancer - Hall of Fame outfielder Tony Gwynn recently revealed to a San Diego newspaper that he has parotid cancer (cancer in a salivary gland). Gwynn currently faces seven to eight weeks of treatment. His cancer was caught early, and his doctors tell him that little of it remains, Gwynn said. He hasn’t gotten confirmation from the doctors, but believes that the cancer could have been related to chewing tobacco.

Soul Singer Solomon Burke Dies - Early Sunday, legendary singer Solomon Burke died in a Dutch airport of an apparent heart attack. He was 70. Burke, a Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee whose hits include “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” and “Cry to Me,” was in the nation for an upcoming show. He leaves behind 21 children, 90 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

NY Gang Members Accused of Brutal Hate Crime - On Thursday, 10 suspected New York gang members appeared in a New York court accused of brutally attacking a male recruit they believed to be gay along with a 30-year-old gay man who apparently had sexual relations with the teen. The attack is considered the worst anti-gay crime in the city’s history, but lawyers for the men involved insist that they are innocent, and that the public shouldn’t rush to judgment.

Shocking Allegations - Former B2K singer Raz-B recently posted a video of his reaction to Bishop Eddie Long’s address to his congregation, in which he accused his former group’s producer Chris Stokes and singer Marques Houston of abuse. “For all you pedophiles out there: you Eddie Longs, you Marques Houstons, you Chris Stokeses, you’re going to burn in hell with gasoline in your draws if you don’t repent.” Omarion, Houston’s brother, refuted the claims on Twitter, saying Raz is motivated by money.

Reports: Kodjoe Owes More than $200,000 to IRS - “Undercovers” star Boris Kodjoe owes a tax bill of more than $230,000, according to reports. There have been three separate liens filed for unpaid taxes; one in 2008 for $110,202, one in 2009 for $82,745, and one in July for $37,497. Kodjoe dismissed the recent reports, though, saying that the matter has since been “taken care of.”

New Mandela Book - On Tuesday, “Conversations with Myself” a personal portrait of 92-year-old South African icon Nelson Mandela went on sale across the world. President Obama penned the book’s forward, writing, “I am reminded that even as he has become a legend, to know the man … is to respect him even more.” The book, made with compiled notes, letters and recorded conversations, is a companion piece to his 1994 autobiography, “Long Walk.”

T.O. and Ochocinco’s New Show - The Cincinnati Bengals’ receiving duo Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco teamed up off the football field for their new cable show “The T.Ocho Show,” which premiered on Tuesday. With their own respective VH1 reality shows, the two are no strangers to television. During this half-hour program, though, Owens and Ochocinco will speak their minds on a variety of social topics each week. The program airs on the cable sports channel Versus.

Rioters Burn Police Station in Northern Nigeria - Members of a radical militant group are suspected to be behind a police station fire on Monday in northern Nigeria. The attack left three officers wounded. In the recent past, the group, Boko Haram, has been behind a string of assassinations and a massive prison break that occurred last month. The group would like to see a stricter version of Islam’s Shariah law implemented across the nation. Earlier this month a different group was behind the bombing of an independence celebration (pictured).

James Leaves Heat Exhibition - Tuesday night, LeBron James left an exhibition game in Moscow after grabbing his right hamstring in discomfort. His team, the Miami Heat, says he had cramps. He returned to practice on Saturday and did not mention any problems with his right hamstring.
