Bishop Long Accuser Arrested - Jamal Parris, one of Bishop Eddie Long’s four accusers of sexual harassment, was arrested Tuesday in Miami Beach, Florida, for possession of marijuana and a gun. He was charged with two felony counts: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. He also was charged with operating a motor vehicle with no registration, a misdemeanor. Bay Area Train System to Pay Oscar Grant’s Mother $1.3 Million - Last week, the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) agreed to pay Wanda Johnson $1.3 million to settle the wrongful death and violation of civil rights lawsuit she filed against former officer Johannes Mehserle and the system for the videotaped shooting death of her son Oscar Grant. Grant, unarmed, was shot on the train platform New Year’s Day 2009 by Mehserle after a dispute. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter but released earlier this month from an L.A.
