Alexis Ohanian is once again speaking out against the double standard between his wife Serena Williams’ emotional reaction to the U.S. Open and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s tearful and angry testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

After Williams stood up to an umpire who docked her a point and then a game, the tennis star was criticized by everyone from cartoonists to people on Twitter. However, when Kavanaugh displayed multiple emotional outbursts during his confirmation hearing, he was applauded and met with empathy.

This made Deborah Barros, a candidate for Alabama State Senate, tweet Saturday that it was “funny how a black female tennis player is held to a higher standard to keep her emotions in check than a Supreme Court nominee.”

Reddit co-founder Ohanian responded by saying, “it’s not funny, it’s bulls—t.”

Ohanian then posted a thread pointing out the several instances wherein Kavanaugh cried, shouted, and evaded senators’ questions by asking them the same one.

Despite his emotional outburst and sexual assault allegations against him, Kavanaugh was confirmed as a Justice on the Supreme Court Saturday.

Ohanian ended his thread by saying, “if you’re going to be a Supreme Court Justice ― a job that requires maintaining sober judgement [sic]― it shouldn’t matter what questions you have to answer in your job interview, you keep it together.”

He also added that he looks “forward to the cartoon [Herald Sun editor Damon Johnson] puts on the front page about it.”
