People Are Destroying NBC Announcer Mike Tirico for Saying He's Not Black
Mike Tirico has been the talk of Twitter for a few days now after telling the New York Times over the weekend that he's Italian and not Black.
When asked about his African-American lineage, the NBC sports announcer told the newspaper's writer to just say that he's mixed without going further into it.
But when the writer pressed him on it further, Tirico responded by saying, “Why do I have to check any box? If we live in a world where we’re not supposed to judge, why should anyone care about identifying?”
Wow. Well, the internet didn't take too kindly to that, destroying the announcer on sight with these reactions for failing to acknowledge and own that he's Black.
People didn't hesitate giving Tirico a starring role in Jay-Z's '4:44' with the infamous line from 'The Story of O.J.'
OK.
And people have been sensing this well before the article
