Floyd Mayweather Jr. Took the High Road in Response to Ronda Rousey's Knockout

Retired undefeated champion's reaction might not be what you expect it to be.

After having time to fully digest the brutal way that Ronda Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm over the weekend, Floyd Mayweather Jr. might have been inclined to joke about the fallen UFC star.

50 Cent even alleged that Mayweather ordered him to post an Instagram meme poking fun at Rousey.

That being said, before Money got Fif to do his dirty work, the retired, undefeated boxing champion did respond to Rousey's loss...but his reaction might not be what you think.

"Oh, I don't know," Mayweather told M Live while watching the Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons game Sunday when asked about Rousey's loss in Australia. "I don't speak on nobody's situation."

Although he has never tasted defeat professionally, he wasn't surprised to learn of Rousey's loss to Holm, despite Ronda being the overwhelming favorite.

"Just in boxing period, contact sports period, you win some, you lose some," Mayweather said. "I don't know about this fight, I just know that you win some and you lose some. It basically comes with the territory."

He also mentioned that it makes boxing "look bad" to have Rousey, an MMA star, on the January 2016 cover of The Ring.

"That shows you when I step away from the sport, when I step outside the ring, and I'm on the other side, you can see what's going on," Mayweather said.

Mayweather and Rousey have taken shots at each other leading up to Holm's shocking knockout of Rousey, who was admitted to the hospital.
