The NFL takes great pride in protecting its teams' logos and likenesses.

That's why the shield is coming down hard on Norml, a nonprofit organization trying to legalize weed. Norml's Pittsburgh chapter replaced the Pittsburgh Steelers' stars in their logo with marijuana leaves.

Needless to say, the NFL took notice and sent a cease-and-desist letter to the group, warning it to get rid of the design immediately, according to TMZ Sports. The celebrity news website says that Norml plans on complying and restoring the Steelers' logo back to its original form to avoid a bitter war with the NFL.

There's no doubt that the Steelers want to avoid any association with marijuana, especially after their star running back, Le'Veon Bell, was arrested for smoking weed while driving and suspended by the league for the first two games of this season.
