Ex-New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham was clearly in his feelings when he tried to embarrass a former girlfriend. He's now learning the hard way that social media isn't the proper platform to settle issues with an old flame.

On Wednesday, Cunningham pled guilty to posting sexual photos of his ex-girlfriend on Instagram without her permission and is subject to New Jersey's "revenge porn" law, according to NJ.com. The 26-year-old confessed to Superior Court Judge William Daniel that he posted photos of his ex's inner thighs, groin and butt on an Instagram account back in December 2014.

According to New Jersey's law, it is illegal to distribute sexual images without the subject’s consent. 

Cunningham reportedly also pled guilty Wednesday to third-degree invasion of privacy and gun charges stemming from a December 2014 arrest, as part of a plea deal that will allow him to serve probation instead of do jail time.

The probation length will be set in court next month.
