It Is Not Likely Michael Slager Will Face Death Penalty - Former North Charleston Officer Michael Slager will likely not face the death penalty in the murder case of Walter Scott, according to a statement released by prosecutor Scarlett Wilson. Man Sitting on Passengers' Side of Walter's Scott Vehicle Speaks Out - Pierre Fulton was with Walter Scott during the final moments of his life. Fulton was sitting in the passenger's side of Scott's vehicle when Scott ran out after being stopped by police. "I'll never know why he ran, but I know he didn't deserve to die," Fulton said in a statement released by his attorney. "Walter was a dear friend and I miss him every day." Family Lays Walter Scott to Rest - The family of Walter Scott paid their final respects to their loved one Saturday in South Carolina, where he was laid to rest after a funeral that was open to the public.
