Black DC Teen Accepted Into Five Ivy League Colleges
Avery Coffey has some deciding to do. Unlike hundreds of high school students eagerly awaiting college acceptance letters, Coffey can relax because five Ivy League schools are vying for his educational commitment.
Coffey, a student at Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in Washington, D.C, maintained a 4.3 high school report card average and took courses geared toward obtaining a bachelor's degree in international business.
With dreams of majoring in finance, Coffey applied to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, the University of Pennsylvania and Brown and was recently accepted to all five of the some of the most prestigious colleges in the world. Coffey told Fox News DC he wants to become a CEO, overseeing acquisitions or transactions between Fortune 500 companies.
He also had some advice for his peers. ”You can go anywhere you want to, pursue any career that you want to, and you shouldn’t let anybody hinder you from trying to reach your goals,” Coffey said.
So what school will he choose? Coffey still has time to decide; most colleges require a decision by April or May.
