Facebook Has Decided: Obama for President

If the 2012 presidential election were held on Facebook, President Obama would win by a landslide, fan totals show.

The results are in!

… on Facebook, that is.

If the 2012 presidential election were held on Facebook, President Obama would win by a landslide, fan totals show.

President Obama boasts a towering 28.5 million Facebook fans, while his GOP opponent Mitt Romney has 6.6 million.

However, Romney shouldn’t feel too shafted by Facebook users. User data analyzed by social media ad platform Compass Labs shows that although Obama leads in committed Facebook fans, Romney has more people engaging with his posts — talking about the items and racking up nearly 40 percent more “likes” than Obama, Forbes reports.

The data also revealed more personal details about the differences between Obama and Romney Facebook fans that may (or may not) surprise you. Romney’s crew seems to have a penchant for things like guns, Walmart, church, basketball and quilting, while Obama’s folks prefer meditation, camping, gaming and stand-up comedy.

Somehow, despite such varying interests, fans from both sides agreed on a favorite movie: The Hangover.
