50 Cent Goes in on Def Jam for Dropping the Ball on Jeremih's Album Rollout

He's just looking out for a friend.

It took a while for Jeremih’s Late Nights to be released. Five years to be exact. And during the buildup to its debut, people started to wonder just what was going on.

50 Cent — who never shies away from giving his opinion, especially on Instagram — took to the social media platform to question Def Jam’s judgment regarding the rollout of Late Nights.

“What Def Jam has done to Jeremih is so foul,” he relayed in the post’s caption, which features a picture of the singer. “They have dropped the ball in so many ways. They have his Album out at $18.99 I have never seen a album priced that high in 5 years. SMH STUPID MOTHERF**KERS.”

50’s latest tirade comes after he reportedly spent time with the R&B singer at Club Lust. It should be noted that while $18.99 is among the highest priced LPs currently out, it isn’t unprecedented within the last five years, as 50 incorrectly pointed out. Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and Jeezy’s Church in These Streets are currently going for the same price at Best Buy.

Late Nights is Jeremih’s third solo studio album release and his first since 2010’s All About You. He recently told The FADER that it was once the case that Def Jam was planning on not dropping the album. According to him, they changed course after seeing what he was doing outside of simply recording music.
