Mathew Knowles: I’m Working on a Few Destiny’s Child Projects
Could Destiny’s Child be headed for an official reunion? Mathew Knowles sure hopes so.
Beyoncé's dad wants the girl group back together so badly, that he’s taking it upon himself to work on some new DC projects. “I am extremely hopeful that the ladies will come back with an album and a tour,” he told the Huffington Post. “I’m working on a few Destiny’s Child projects right now.”
The biopic report was initially exposed amid the Sony hack last year, and this isn't the first time that he teased the idea of a new album. Knowles is apparently still shopping the flick around, and the timing might just be perfect since biopics are all the rage right now.
In the meantime, Knowles is focused on putting the DC story in print. “My second book will be the autobiography of Destiny’s Child,” he explained. “I’m talking to the film and TV community right now, regarding a Destiny’s Child movie or TV series of some sort. But I still manage the ladies — Destiny’s Child — and I’m hopeful that within the next two to three years we’ll see something major come from it.”
Knowles didn’t actually say if Bey, Kelly Rowland or Michelle Williams have his blessing. The group was signed to his Music World imprint before taking an indefinite hiatus, and severed all solo ties with the label.
