Taylor Swift Apologizes to Nick Minaj About VMAs Tweet: 'I Missed the Point'

"I thought I was being called out," the country-turned-pop star said.

It looks like Taylor Swift realized that she jumped the gun with this "beef" as she just tweeted an apology to Nicki Minaj after randomly calling her out for "pitting women against one another."

Two days ago, Minaj expressed her disappointment for not receiving a 2015 Video of the Year VMA nomination for her smash hit "Anaconda" in a series of tweets. After tweeting that while she was snubbed for celebrating her curvy African-American figure, more svelte female artists were nominated for their videos. Swift, who was nominated for the ultimate anti-girl power clip for "Bad Blood," immediately took offense and lashed out at Nicki.

Though Swift apologized for her words, some other celebs were not trying to hear her opinion. Most notably, her rumored arch nemesis in music, Katy Perry, took to Twitter to shade the "Blank Space" singer.

And that my friends is what we call a checkmate. Hopefully, Taylor can shake it off.
