Report: Lil Wayne Drops Cash Money Lawsuit

Did Weezy have a change of heart?

Lil Wayne isn’t making amends with Cash Money based on the latest legal development in the battle over his music. As reported by the Jasmine Brand, Weezy, birth name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., dropped the $51 million lawsuit against the label, however it has not been completely thrown out.

According to blogger Karen Civil, the lawsuit has been moved to New Orleans. Court documents state that Wayne “voluntarily dismissed” the original suit yesterday.

The 32-year-old rapper has been publicly trashing the label for several months now, accusing the imprint of owing him an $8 million advance, and more. At a show in Florida recently, he yelled “F**k Cash Money” into the mic, before promising the release of the Free Weezy album, and Tha Carter V. The latter release remains in limbo while the label discrepancy is settled.

Wayne’s lawyer did not respond to BET.com’s request for comment on the suit.
