Aspring Chicago Rapper Lil Marc Gunned Down at a Bus Stop

20-year-old rhymer shot in the head days after dropping diss record.

An up-and-coming rapper out of Chicago was fatally gunned down at a bus stop Friday (March 28) afternoon, reports DNA Info.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Marc "Lil Marc" Campbell, who was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

Campbell leaves behind a pregnant girlfriend.

He was gunned down days after dropping the diss "No Competition," targeting street clique OTF and rappers Lil Durk and Lil Reese. Neither have been named as having any connection to the shooting.

Back in 2012, 18-year-old aspiring rapper Joseph "Lil Jojo" Coleman was killed after dissing Reese and Durk on the track "3hunnak."

Police are still investigating Campbell's death and are unsure if the violence is related to a shooting of a 25-year-old man roughly an hour earlier. The victim was hit in the thigh, and taken to Stroger Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Despite rampant gun violence that has earned the city the nickname "Chiraq," the murder rate in the first three months of 2014 dropped to its lowest figures since 1958.
