Nicki Minaj Releases Video for New Single
Nicki Minaj took to Twitter today to tip off her Barbz about her new video, "Lookin' A** N***as." Posted on WorldStarHipHop, it's 176 seconds of the Young Money MC spittin' about lame dudes who use Boost Mobile phones and share "one bottle in the club," with a soul-drenched sample on loop, doing the work of creating the chorus.
Directed by Nabil — the mastermind behind Frank Ocean's "Pyramids" video and Kanye West's "Coldest Winter" — the black and white video is set in what appears to be a desert, the distant mountains framing the background. Dressed primarily in silver jewelry and a black fishnet dress, Minaj goes in, her words building to a frenzy as the track plays. She's the only one who appears in the video, except for a pair of eyes, which are apparently stand-ins for the song's titular inspiration. Minaj alternately dances, chair dances, whips her waist-length ponytail and shoots a machine gun.
The title card says the single is from Rise of an Empire/The Pink Print, which, as Minaj's site confirms, means it will appear both on Young Money's upcoming crew album, Young Money: Rise of an Empire (set to drop March 11), and Minaj's forthcoming solo effort, The Pink Print.
