Chris Brown Steps Out for Charity
Chris Brown briefly stepped out of rehab to host a charity toy drive at the Brooklyn Projects shop in Los Angeles Sunday (Dec. 22). Brown, 24, was supported by celebrity friends Tyga and Kevin Hart during the event where he collected toys for the less fortunate, donated clothing from his own Black Pyramid line and skateboarded with some of the youngsters in attendance.
The "Fine China" crooner looked upbeat posing for photos with fans and tweeted, "Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today. Have a wonderful holiday. You've made a merry Christmas for a young child!" later in the day.
2013 has been a rocky year for the embattled Grammy winner, who threatened to quit music after the release of his sixth studio effort, X. The project has since been delayed and is slated for release sometime next year. Brown's musical career has been marred by mounting legal troubles, which kicked into high gear over the last year amid various lawsuits, and a hit-and-run accident.
Brown was sentenced to 90 days in rehab for anger management last month, after he was booted from a voluntary stay at a facility in Malibu, Calif. Receiving new inpatient treatment includes trust-building exercises, one of which was a 12-hour rope course that Brown completed, according to a progress report from his court appearance last week. Brown was back in court over an October assault arrest for allegedly attacking a man trying to jump in a picture with the R&B crooner and some of his female admirers.
As a result, a judge revoked Breezy's probation for a second time this year, concluding that the fight likely caused Brown to breach the terms of his four-year probation sentence stemming from the 2009 Rihanna attack.
Brown is due back in court in February.
