Kelly Rowland Joins the British X-Factor
It's been a rough week for English singer Cheryl Cole. She's given away two major opportunities to two American R&B singers in the last several days. The latest to benefit from Cole's misfortune is former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland.
The "Motivation" singer has been announced as a new judge on the U.K. version of the television show "The X-Factor," taking a spot intended for Cole.
As previously reported, former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger was announced as a new judge on the U.S. version of the show on Thursday, May 26. Apparently, producers for the television show dropped Cole from the judging panel for fear that her accent is too thick for American viewers to easily understand. The plan was for her to return to the U.K. version of the show but she reportedly hasn't returned any of the producers' phone calls.
"You can't exactly negotiate with someone who won't even speak to you," a source from the show told The Daily Mail.
Kelly Rowland is expected to drop her third solo album Here I Am later this year.
