Lupe Fiasco Talks Bin Laden Death on The Colbert Report
Lupe Fiasco took his politically charged single "Words I Never Said" to Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, and the satirical pundit questioned Lu about his views on government and the war on terror.
Asked why he had been critical of President Obama on the song, Lupe said that people should always criticize power, even if they tend to agree with those who wield it.
"I pay taxes, so therefore I have a right to be critical of everything that goes on," he reasoned.
On the topic of the war on terror, Lupe seemed much less enthused about the death of Osama bin Laden than some others have been, including the show’s host Stephen Colbert, who threw a party on his broadcast the day after President Obama announced it.
"We got one guy," he said. "I don't see an end to [the war on terror]."
Despite his sober outlook, Lupe delivered an electrifying performance after the interview. Call it his way of waking up the masses.
