Jermaine Dupri Narrowly Avoids Foreclosure on Atlanta Mansion
Hitmaking producer Jermaine Dupri is no stranger to money problems, but in his latest round of financial troubles the ATLien has been granted a reprieve.
Atlanta’s WSBTV Channel 2 Action News discovered that Dupri’s mansion in northwest Atlanta was set to be auctioned off last week, but was abruptly taken off the auction block at the last minute. No formal explanation was given as to how the foreclosure issue was resolved. However, according to records from the Georgia Department of Revenue, J.D. owes the state $493,768.75 in back taxes for 2007.
The financial woes reportedly don’t end there. The Fayette County Tax Commissioner George Wingo showed a Channel 2 News reporter documents showing that Dupri also owes more than $14,000 in unpaid property taxes on another home he owns.
Back in 2002, Dupri's property was seized by IRS agents for an outstanding tax debt of over $2 million.
