Adidas' lengthy battle against sneaker rival Skechers has gone on for years, but the former recently scored a one-up after a Federal Judge sided with its claims of copying. According to Oregon Live, he agreed with their claims that Skechers has been copying the iconic brand's "Stand Smith" design.

Oregon's U.S. District Judge Marco A. Hernandez issued a preliminary injunction against Skechers, which is documented as the second largest footwear company behind powerhouse Nike. 

The Skechers "Onix" sneaker design looks so shockingly similar to that of the classic "Stan Smith" that the judge could not even tell them apart in the court room. 

"Hernandez also noted that he couldn't distinguish between Adidas' Stan Smith and Skechers' Onix shoes when each was presented as evidence just a few feet away from him in court," Oregon Live reports. 

The "Stan Smith" isn't the only design staple being brought into question. The Adidas Supernova and Three Stripes logo are also being added to the mix. Thankfully for Skechers, Hernandez was able to tell those designs were "inspired" by Adidas, but the company still plans to appeal.

This means less Adidas-inspired Skechers will be seen in stores, but that could all change if the footwear company snags a win in court.
