Angela Simmons and Sanya Richards-Ross Preview Vegan Fur Line in NYC
Raise your hand if you’ve poured over the Instagrams of fashion designer Angela Simmons and Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross for some #OOTD inspiration. (No shame here!) The longtime friends and fierce fashionistas have combined their style prowess to create a new eco-friendly luxury fur line, Foofi & Bella, and they’re giving you a chance to be among the first to shop the looks in person.
Simmons and Richards-Ross are hosting Foofi & Bella’s official launch on December 17 at Technogym’s flagship store in New York City (70 Greene St) from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy upon entry. The gifts will benefit Ne-Yo’s The Compound Foundation, which aims to create opportunities for youth in foster care and group homes.
Expect to see a range of contemporary faux fur jackets, vests and coats that are 100 percent cruelty-free. The designs are made of acrylic and polyester blends that “pay realistic homage to mink, suede, lynx and shearling,” according to the brand. The winter collection is described as “playful, energetic, cozy and versatile, authentically embodying the style and personal philosophy of its founders.”
On her partnership with Richards-Ross, Simmons, said in a statement that they remain “like-minded and passionately motivated to leave a lasting impact as entrepreneurs and make a difference in [their] communities.”
