Walmart Truck Driver in Tracy Morgan Crash Charged
Justice has been served in the case of Tracy Morgan's June 2014 car crash, which almost cost him his life. Kevin Roper, the Walmart truck driver who slammed into the comedian's limo van, killing passenger James McNair and critically injuring Morgan, has been officially indicted by a grand jury.
According to US Magazine, Roper was hit with several charges including first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide, and eight counts of third-degree aggravated assault charges.
At the time of the incident, Roper was allegedly awake for more than 24 hours. Following the crash, which took place on the New Jersey Turnpike, Morgan, 47, was forced to spend the next year recovering from a series of injuries including broken bones and a serious brain injury, which caused him to go into a coma for two weeks.
He made his official return to the stage this past October for Saturday Night Live's 30 Rock reunion.
