Robin Roberts revealed earlier this year that she had found the love of her life in massage therapist Amber Laign. Now, the Good Morning America co-host and her girlfriend are ready to take their love to the next level.
The National Enquirer reports that Roberts plans to marry her longtime girlfriend over the holidays.
Roberts, 54, said in her memoir Everybody's Got Something that Laign stood by her during her ordeal with breast cancer in 2007 and as she overcame a rare blood disorder that required a bone marrow transplant in 2012. Roberts referred to Laign as "the wind beneath my wings." Now, a friend says that Roberts is “on top of the world and can’t think of anything better than showing Amber how much she loves her by exchanging vows.”
“Expect the wedding to be a quiet affair with family and friends,” noted the insider. “But you can bet that Michelle Obama, a close pal, will get an invite and maybe she’ll bring Barack along!”
Roberts and Laign have been together for nearly a decade, she wrote in her memoir. “She’s originally from Northern California and is extremely laid-back, no drama, no fuss. The main thing we have in common is positive energy. She sees the good in everyone,” she wrote.
Sounds like it's going to be a very happy holiday season for the couple!
