The Best Man Sequel in the Works

Fans of the romantic dramedyThe Best Man will get to see if life for the characters turned out happily ever after.
Deadline reports that Universal Pictures is moving forward with Best Man 2, a sequel to the wedding-themed film about a writer (Taye Diggs) preparing to be the best man for his football player friend (Morris Chestnut) as his own autobiographical novel is about to be published describing how the best man slept with the bride. The original, which grossed $35 million, also starred Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan.
Malcom D. Lee, who wrote and directed the original, has been set to do the same for the follow-up.
Lee reportedly plans to ask the original cast to reprise their roles.
