BET Awards 2021: Five Reasons Why MIGOS Needs To Produce Another Group Album

It’s been a minute since we’ve last had a project from ATL’s favorite trap trio.

Ever since the release of their third studio album, Culture II, the ad-libbing, North Atlanta hip hop posse has been in the cut. Aside from some lowkey features and singles here and there, the group has taken a three-year hiatus from producing full-length projects together. Sure, a break is necessary for everyone now and again, but their fans want more and it’s time to give them what they want: an innovative new album. MIGOS has had four wins and 11 nominations at the BET Awards, and we can bet that with a new project that number would bump up quite a bit. Here are five reasons why we want MIGOS to produce another group album.

  1. The release of “Culture” was a major moment for hip hop

With the release of their first album Culture, which sold over 134,000 units, Migos put themselves on the map. Not only did they propel into a household name but they moved the culture forward with an instantly classic record full of trap-oriented bangers left to right. When “Bad and Boujee” first dropped, you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing it blasting out of someone’s speakers at the highest volume possible. On top of this, their performance at the 2017 BET Awards of “T-Shirt” and “Bad and Boujee” definitely did wonders for their brand. That was a moment that ushered in a new era for trap music.

  2. Their recent singles slap

Since picking up their momentum by creating tracks on a consistent basis again, they haven’t missed much. After listening to “Need It (ft. YoungBoy Never Broke Again)” and “Straightenin,” it’s clear that they have stepped up their lyrical game while maintaining their signature feel, style and sound. It’s only getting better from here.

  3. We miss their patented ad-libs

I mean who doesn’t love a good Migos ad-lib? It’s such a cool signature. Even if you find it amusing or humorous, they’ll always be wholesome and delightful to hear.

  5. Their compatibility is unmatched

Their seamless ability to flow in and out between verses and when to ad-libs is, by itself, a work of art. It’ll be exciting to see how much better they mesh on a newer project.

  6. It’ll be dope to see what features they have

With so many new artists that have come out from Atlanta since their last album, it’ll be interesting to who they choose to collaborate with. As far as banging features go, they’ve already proven that for them, the sky's the limit.
