Black Twitter Confused Over 50 Cent’s ‘Vote Trump’ Post After Seeing Biden’s Tax Plan
In an unexpected turn of events, 50 Cent has shown his support for Donald Trump after seeing Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s proposed tax plan. While the G-Unit mogul has dissed Trump on numerous occasions since he assumed the Oval Office four years ago, it now appears he is putting his personal feelings aside in favor of his financial interests.
And that left many Black Twitter users scratching their heads.
On Monday (October 19), the Queens emcee told his 26.2 million followers to vote for Trump. Fifty shared an image from a news broadcast including figures from a Tax Foundation analysis of Biden's plan breaking down tax rates for the state of California, New Jersey, and New York State. New York City was included on the list with a proposed tax rate of 62 percent.
“WHAT THE F**K! (VOTE For TRUMP) IM OUT,” Fifty wrote in disbelief in the post’s caption. “F**K NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f***ing mind.”
Biden’s plan proposes that people who earn $400,000 and more annually could face a combined, federal, state and local tax rate of 62 percent, according to CNBC. People who make less would receive a tax cut.
In a follow-up post, 50 Cent jokingly added that he was “bankrupt.”
“I just remembered I'm bankrupt, so I'm looking for a gracious loan can anyone help a brother out. LOL,” he captioned a photo of himself.
Because 50 Cent is known for his jokes and pranks some weren’t sure if he was serious about endorsing the president while others were quite concerned.
