Cardi B And Kulture Celebrate ‘WAP’ Debuting At No. 1 In The Cutest Way Possible

The Bronx rapper’s smash collab with Megan Thee Stallion also set a new streaming record.

Cardi B is in a full-on celebration mode after her smash collab with Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. The single also set a new streaming record the first week it dropped.

  • Released Aug. 7, “WAP” pulled in more than 93 million streams in the U.S. alone within the first six days, according to data obtained from Nielsen Music/MRC Data by Billboard, the most for any track ever in its first week of release. The song, which was produced by Ayo & Keyz, marks the Grammy-winner rapper’s fourth chart-topping track and Megan, who just notched her first Hot 100 No. 1 with her Beyoncé-assisted “Savage Remix” in May, has now logged her second milestone.

  • Shortly after the news, Cardi rushed to her Instagram page to celebrate the achievement with her loyal fanbase, the Bardi Gang. She shared a tidal wave of emotions as she voiced her gratitude at the magnitude of support “WAP” received.

    “Number f***in one!!!!! NUMBER 1 !!!My 4th number 1 on @billboard hot 100....I’m just so thankful I want to hug the LORD!! Thank you soo much,” she wrote. “[Megan Thee Stallion], I don’t even know how to thank you. I wish I can give you a big a** hug !!! Thank you to my fans [and] Megan fans. Thank you the world for listening. I'm just soooo thankful I can’t even type it. Imma get like a bad b***h and tell ya later. Love ya WAAAAAAAPP.”
    According to Chart Data, “WAP” is the first-ever female rap collaboration to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, which had Cardi even more hyped.
    “Breaking pop records! HIP HOP DID THAT!! I’m sooo f***happy,” she expressed in a second post at the revelation. “I’m so proud of us! Yooo God is sooooo big. I did NOT see this coming. I wasn’t even expecting all this yooo.Wap Wap Wap!!!!! Thank you @theestallion!!!”

  • While celebrating with her fans via Instagram Live, Cardi had the cutest moment with her family when Offset and Kulture joined her. The Grammy-winning rapper and Kulture delivered an adorable sing-along to “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s film, Moana, as Offset held the toddler.  

    “This is our song,” Cardi gushed before she gave Kulture a peck on the cheek. Later in the video, she commented, “you look so cute. You look like Mommy.”
