Offset’s Uncle Has Died From Coronavirus: ‘Pray For My Family’
An outpouring of prayers are pouring for Offset after the rapper revealed that one of his relatives passed away from complications related to the coronavirus.
On Sunday (April 19), Offset took to his Instagram Stories to mourn the loss of his great uncle, Jerry.
“Smfh, this corona s**t done killed my uncle,” the 28-year-old disclosed to his followers with a tear-faced emoji. “Rip uncle Jerry damn man.” He continued in another post where he called for fans to “pray for [his] family,” posting a picture of a black cross sewn onto camouflage print.
This comes after Cardi B spoke to former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Instagram Live last Wednesday (April 15). During their conversation, the Bronx rap star slammed the Trump administration for his bungled response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I feel like they put capitalism, money, trading, [and] goods before our health,” Cardi voiced. “And, instead of apologizing and giving us better things than a $1600 [sic; $1200] at one time, I feel like we deserve better because they messed up.”
Other members of the hip-hop community have come forward sharing their battles with the coronavirus, including Slim Thug, Jazzy Jeff, and Styles P.
