Raven-Symoné And Kiely Williams Made Amends On Instagram Live Over Cheetah Girl Drama

“You can say what you want about me and how you felt about me, but you can't ever say that I didn't ride for Adrienne...I didn't do anything!”

There’s never a better time to let bygones be bygones than a global pandemic.

Raven-Symoné and Kiely Williams made use of their quarantine time amid the coronavirus outbreak to set aside their differences. The two former Cheetah Girls stars had a heart-to-heart moment over Instagram Live on Thursday (April 9) and made amends with one another.

  • “Because of you, I get to talk to you and heal a wound from that time period when we were younger that I probably wouldn’t get to do if I didn’t understand that, you know what, you like to shake s**t up,” Raven told Kiely, who admitted that she is a bit of “a fire starter, for sure. It’s an acquired taste.”

The two discussed how they’ve both matured in their own respective ways since that time. Kiely then asked Raven why she opted not to come back for Cheetah Girls 3. “The cliquish way that there was during that movie made me feel excluded from my original team,” Raven admitted. “Not that it was strong, but I felt excluded...we had other things that just led up to that moment that just were weird [and] personal outside of business.”

  • Kiely agreed that there was some “weird energy” that caused tension between everyone after coming off a tour. Raven recalled one instance where she got mad at Kiely after the former 3LW member brought up that she also auditioned for The Cosby Show and seemed to be mad at Raven over not getting the part. In her mind, Kiely just saw Raven “as the first Black girl with a show.” Nonetheless, Kiely admitted that she can be “a lot” at times and apologized for coming off the way she did. “I would never try to hurt you on purpose,” Kiely told Raven, which she reciprocated. “Well, I appreciate that, sweetheart, and I release any pain towards you that I have. I cancel, clear, and delete it.”

  • “It sucks that that’s how you felt and I really wish we could’ve sat down and talked about it then. It’s so antithetical to what the Cheetah Girls was about,” Kiely continued. “Same thing with my other girl group.”

This prompted Raven to bring up another former friend. “You got to talk to Adrienne, dude,” she insisted.

“Why do I have to talk to Adrienne?” Kiely questioned, to which Raven responded, “Because you’re the firecracker!”

“No, she didn't come to my dad's funeral or call me when he died. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be messy. I'm being for real with you..I swear to God, nope,” Kiely returned. “You can say what you want about me and how you felt about me, but you can't ever say that I didn't ride for Adrienne...I didn't do anything!”

Noticing Kiely getting upset, Raven took a moment to help Kiely calm down. While Raven agreed that it was terrible that Adrienne didn't show up for her, she shared that her own best friend didn't invite her to her wedding.

“But I still talk to her because the history that we have for one another is so thick, she knows a part of you that nobody else knows," Raven noted. “But y'all prideful a**es need to calm down, take a pill for a second and say, ‘I'm pissed at you, but let's talk about it.’ Just like I said with you. ‘I'm pissed about it, but let's get it out like grown women.’”

  • OG Cheetah Girls fans are applauding the two women for coming together to put aside their differences.. “Raven-Symone and Kiely offered a lovely lesson on the power of apologies and letting go of hurt,” one person observed on Twitter.

“Watching Raven Symone and Kiely Williams talk about their Cheetah Girls beef on IG live blew my mind. That’s some real grown woman ish!” a second chimed in.
