"It's been a wild last 7 months and I'm ready to take a little time off," he announced via Twitter, alongside news that he’s canceling two upcoming shows.
The 20-year-old rapper then went on to apologize to fans who hoped to see him during his two performances scheduled for late September.
"Sorry to everyone attending TwitchCon or the Sandbox Music Festival, I will not be there. I love you guys and will make it up to you some way," he continued.
Surprisingly, the news comes after Lil Nas X released his first EP in June, called "7," and broke records over the summer by securing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100 with a successful 19-week stint.
As far as future shows, they still seem to be on the schedule. As of now, an upcoming show in Canada on Oct. 17 with Billy Ray Cyrus will continue as scheduled.
It’s unclear why the rapper, born Montero Lamar Hill, is temporarily hanging up his cowboy hat, but let's just hope that this momentary break keeps him in good spirits.
