Rihanna’s NSFW Text To Lizzo About Her VMAs Performance Is Internet Gold

"Don't get mad, Rihanna. I am not trying to blow up your spot, but that was a hard-a** line!”

Lizzo probably walked off stage at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards feeling “Good As Hell” after the femcee took us to church Monday night (Aug. 26). She might not have come away with any awards, but she did deliver one of the night’s most talked about performances.

Wigs flew, spirits soared and edges were thoroughly snatched. Apparently, Barbadian songstress, beauty mogul and fashion muse Rihanna was among the fanfare, too.

  • Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Liz revealed that the Bajan icon slid into her DMs later that evening following the VMAs to sing her congratulatory praise, and it came with some hilariously NSFW commentary.

  • 'She DM'ed me to tell me that I performed good,' the 31-year-old crooner casually told ET. 'She said I f**ked the stage like it was my side b*tch.'

To ensure that Rih didn't catch any offense to the spicy SMS reveal, Lizzo added, "Don't get mad, Rihanna. I am not trying to blow up your spot, but that was a hard-a** line! I might take that line."

  • Touché.

With that thought out in the universe, hopefully we’ll be seeing the two in a studio like how we recently saw Lizzo link up with Justin Timberlake.

  • 'Listen, we need a video of Rihanna in the studio, period,' Lizzo insisted.

She made it clear that she isn’t going to pressure Rihanna into a collaboration, but she would prefer to link up naturally if something pans out.

"I am not going to bother her, 'cause I know what that feels like, so I am going to let her do what she ought to do. I love Rihanna," the Michigan-born, Houston-raised singer told ET.

Watch the rest of Lizzo’s interview in full where the femcee broke down the magic her and Justin Timberlake were laying down in the studio, what it was like to star alongside Jennifer Lopez in Hustlers, and the status of her love life.
