Over the course of the past few days, news broke about Chris Brown allegedly raping a woman in Paris during Men's Fashion Week. The “Privacy” crooner was detained along with his bodyguard and another man. The woman behind the allegation claims to have met Chris and the other men last week, and the assault reportedly took place between January 15-16. Another female eyewitness promptly denied the 29-year-old’s involvement in the sexual assault. Chris, then, took to Instagram to vehemently deny the accusation as well. “Making it perfectly clear, he stated, “THIS B!TCH LYIN’.” Hours later, he was released with no charges filed against him.

His industry peers, such as T.I., and Meek Mill, spoke out against the heinous claims. T.I. believes him based on “knowing him personally” and the lack of evidence to prove otherwise. In light of the #MeToo movement, the “Got Your Back” emcee is pleased that victims are allowed to be empowered, but on the other hand, “it’s arming people who have malicious intent and vindictive nature to go after people undeservingly [...] you’re convicted by public opinion before you even walk into the courtroom. That’s just simply not fair.” The Grand Hustle legend went on to say that the allegation should be immediately dismissed or believed just because Chris is a talented, powerful, Black man.

It’s also being reported that the Virginia native plans to sue the woman who accused him of rape for defamation. According to this Parisian lawyer, Raphael Chiche, "Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him. He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris." His counterparts say this is how a false accusation should be handled, unlike Boosie Badazz’s brutal revenge sentiment.
