Nicki Minaj’s Mother Is Ready To "Tell All" About Her Son's Sexual Assault Trial
While Nicki Minaj is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of her fourth studio album, Queen, her mother, Carol Maraj, is working on a release of her own. Ms. Maraj intends to share “shocking” news about her son, Jelani Maraj’s trial that the court, allegedly, kept quiet about.
Back in November, Jelani Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault on a child younger than 13 years old. According to Newsday, prosecutors stated Maraj began abusing the victim, while married to her mother, at age 11 and raped her repeatedly between April and November 2015. Now 14, the girl testified that Maraj called her “his puppet” and claimed she had “no say” in what was being done to her. She continued by saying he “warned her to keep the abuse a secret.”
Counteracting these claims, his lawyers said the child’s mother forced her to comply in an attempt to extort $25 million from Minaj. Jelani Maraj is expected to face life in prison if convicted.
