Jay-Z Rocks Kaepernick Jersey While Performing With Damian Marley on 'SNL'
Last night (September 30), Saturday Night Live premiered with a bang as Jay-Z opened up the 43rd season in style, literally.
Hov wasn’t rocking the latest designer fashion in a stylist’s sense. Instead, and in perhaps honor for this Sunday’s slate of games, decided to wear a black Colin Kaepernick jersey for the occasion.
Alongside Damian Marley, Jay performed “Bam” off his now-critically acclaimed 4:44 album. He also trotted out a stripped down version of “4:44” the record.
Saturday’s season premiere episode was hosted by Ryan Gosling. The musical performance was Jay-Z’s third in recent memory. At the beginning of the month, he rocked the stage at his own Budweiser Made in America Festival. He also co-headlined the Meadows Music and Arts Festival with a 90-minute set.
This is also the second time Hov has publicly shown his support for the now-blackballed NFL player. At The Meadows, he dedicated his performance of “The Story of O.J.” to Kaepernick.
