Birdman Responds to Tyga's Claims That Cash Money Owes Him Millions
Fresh off the release of his B***h I'm the S**t 2 project, Tyga is making headlines once again ― but, this time around it's not for his latest offering. The "Move to L.A." rapper recently dropped a major financial bombshell during his appearance on The Breakfast Club last week, even surprising the show's hosts over the hefty amount he was owed.
On Thursday (July 20), Tyga revealed during his sitdown with the radio show that former label boss Birdman owes him anywhere from $12-$15 million, claiming he never received payment for hit singles "Rack City" and "Hookah." A source close to the Cash Money Records founder, however, is shutting down these allegations.
According to TMZ, Tyga left the prestigious label while still in the red to pursue other opportunities under Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music without delivering his final project. To add insult to injury, the source claims Tyga's albums sales were sluggish, which made his departure less of a financial pain.
Additionally, the source questioned Tyga's disinterest in pursuing a lawsuit against Birdman for the lofty IOU. But, if you ask the Compton native, it all comes down to his respect for Lil Wayne. “I’m in a position to where it’s like I just want Wayne to get what he’s owed,” Tyga said when asked if he plans to sue Birdman. “I don’t wanna throw nothing more on that situation. I want to see Wayne kinda like prosper with that, and then I can go see. I had to pay to get out.”
