Migos' Takeoff Is Hilariously Taking Jay-Z's '4:44' Advice to Heart
Unless your name is Future, you probably picked up on a lot of lifestyle gems from Jay-Z’s 4:44 hip-hop magnum opus, and more narrowly the pensive “Story of O.J.”
Hov’s fellow rap luminaries have absorbed the project quite well, especially one-third of Atlanta’s Migos trio Takeoff, who has an alternative for Jay’s advice against those “money-calling” Instagram photos.
In a video clip with his fellow Migos member and 26-year-old uncle, Quavo, Takeoff replaces what might normally be a pile of money held up to his ears with boxes of Backwoods instead.
“Rappers with money to their ears,” he jokes. “Backwoods — what you call that, Jay? You don’t know nothing about that one.”
Later on in the video, we see Quavo take on a different meaning to Instagram flexing as well, showing off his all-white drop-top whip. He also flashes us a diamond-cut grill smile as his neck drips with glittery “Culture” and “Migos” diamond-studded chains.
We’re glad to see the millennial rap stars taking the lyrics so lightly, especially after some harsh sentiment from Baton Rouge’s Boosie Badazz and Fewtch’s ‘Gram shade-throwing.
See Migos’ hilariously take on Jay’s suggestions in the video below.
