This Is Not A Drill: Gucci Mane Is Free
Today is a national holiday: Gucci Mane has been freed from prison.
The news hit social media on Thursday (May 26), when the rapper’s fiancee Keyshia Kaoir posted a photo to Snapchat. Hand-in-hand with Guwop, she unleashed the news. The “Lemonade” rapper was originally slated to be released in September, after being sentenced to 39 months in May 2014. There were also talks of a March release, but those plans were later delayed.
Gucci Mane has kept in contact with fans from prison since being locked down, posting a series of open letters to the public. Calling himself “The Machine” in one of his statements, the rapper separated himself from a “typical entertainer.”
“The difference between me and the average entertainer is they dream of signing to a major label so they can have this giant machine push them and propel them to stardom, but I don’t have that dream,” he wrote. “My reality is all I am, all I got. I am the machine behind me. The streets signed me and the Trap named me God. I am a machine. They call me Gucci, some call me Guwop, but they should call me The Machine.”
One things for sure, new music will keep rolling in–as it never really stopped. Peep Keyshia Kaoir’s announcement below:
