LEMONADE Gives Beyoncé Her Sixth #1 Album In a Row

The pop icon is unstoppable.

Between Beyoncé releasing Lemonade and Drake dropping Views From The 6, it was a huge week in music. Now that the dust has settled, there is one question that remains — who won the  battle of the charts?

The answer is a bit more complicated than it may seem. Beyoncé will top out the Billboard 200 for this week. Billboard announced that Lemonade will mark the 6th album in Queen Bey's incomparable career to make it to number one on the list. The album sold a staggering 653,000 equivalent album units (which now includes streams) in its first week, making it the largest release so far this year.

And then there's Drizzy, who debuted his album a few days after Bey, and sold an incredible 600,000 in a single DAY. So it seems very possible that when it's all said and done, Drake will actually sell more albums overall.

The assumption is the Bey's numbers are lower because she didn't actually sell her album on its release day, when it was exclusively on Tidal for 24 hours.

Still, it is impossible to ignore the fact that Beyoncé is the only artist whose first six albums — which, in fact, comprise her entire solo discography — not only reached the number one slot, but also debuted there.
