Sparkle - Released this past August, Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston starred in the remake of the 1976 classic Sparkle. This remake was a true revamp since the original took place in Harlem and the new version took place in Detroit during the Motown era. Either way, Whitney Houston made a very special mark on her role as Sparkle's mother. (Photo: Sony Pictures)

Scarface - Al Pacino starred in the 1983 remake of Scarface and had (and still has) fans everywhere quoting the movie and screaming out, "Say hello to my little friend!" Now, just to school everyone, this movie is a remake of a movie by the same name based on the life of Al Capone. The original hit theaters in 1932. (Photo: Universal Pictures)

The Preacher's Wife - With Denzel Washington playing Whitney Houston's guardian angel you'd think that this movie was made just for them, but in actuality The Preacher's Wife is a remake of a movie titled The Bishop's Wife (1947), which was based on a book by the same name that was released in 1928. The original starred Hollywood heartthrob Cary Grant and Loretta Young. (Photo: Parkway Productions)

Guess Who - In 2005, Ashton Kutcher, Zoe Saldana and Bernie Mac were part of a remake that flipped the script a bit in Guess Who. The movie's premise was based on the film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967), starring Sidney Poitier, which focused on interracial dating and a Black man meeting his white girlfriend's parents. Guess Who took a different approach and had Ashton Kutcher play a white man dating Bernie Mac's daughter played by Zoe Saldana. Let's just say a lot of truths were discussed and there was plenty of comedy to go around. (Photo: Columbia Pictures)
