Hip Hop Awards 2024: Kendrick Sweeps the Competiton with a Night Full of Victories

The West Coast emcee took home eight awards!

Rapper, actor, and executive producer Fat Joe hosted the "BET Hip Hop Awards" 2024 for the third time on Tuesday, October 15, kicking off the show with a fiery performance of his smash single “Make It Rain” alongside DJ Spinatik.

The night saw veteran emcee Kendrick Lamar dominate the competition. The West Coast artist was nominated for 11 awards and took home 8, including “Lyricist of the Year,” “Hip Hop Artist of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Video Director of the Year” with Dave Free for their hit “Not Like Us.”

Travis Scott accepted the “I Am Hip Hop” award, presented by actress and singer Teyana Taylor.

The evening also featured electrifying performances from some of the genre’s biggest stars, including Trina, Yung Miami, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, and many more.
